Inflatable air beds on legs have been a saviour for many families across America. These air mattresses on a stand have meant that camping for my Wife is no longer as scary as it used to be. This is because the air mattress is on legs and elevated from the ground. It provides that extra element of protection from the little bugs and creepy crawlies my Wife was so paranoid about.
Air beds with frames are also increasing in popularity due to the amount of support they offer and the fact they are super portable. While a high quality air mattress will offer good support from the air coil channels, having the support of a cot like frame beneath the air mattress acts as extra support.
Another good reason so many people are buying air beds with legs is because of the actual base reassurance. By this I mean if the air mattress springs a leak during the night, you won’t wake up in the morning on a hard cold surface. Instead you still have the cot material attached to the air mattress frame to keep you elevated off the ground.
Like all our everyday air mattresses, air beds with legs aren’t all created equal. There are only a handful of top rated air mattresses on a frame that we recommend. Depending on whether you need it for camping, daily use or for a guest room. We aim to provide only the best air beds on a stand.
The Best Air Mattress On A Stand For Long Term Use
Our Recommendation – The Serta EZ Air Bed Queen Size
Speed of the inflation is something else that must be mentioned. The primary pump is one that is able to inflate the bed rapidly and have it deflated just as quickly. In fact, it has been reported this takes as little as four minutes. So if time is of the essence then this bed is perfect for you. As far as moving and storing the bed it can be a challenge as it weighs in at around fifty pounds, but it does have its own rolling case that is often referred to as rolling luggage.
The major reason why we think that the Serta EZbed is the best air mattress on a stand is because of the amazing neverFLAT pump. If you are trying to replicate a normal bed with a air bed on legs, then a consistent pumped up mattress is critical. The Serta EZ Bed in our opinion is the best suited. A great air mattress at a decent price.
The Best Inflatable Camping Air Bed With legs
Coleman Queen Airbed Cot Stand Review
Firstly the cot has a steel frame underneath of it which helps to provide support and handle the outdoors better than airbeds on frames built for indoors. There are 2 side tables attached to the heavy duty frame. This is especially good while camping as table space is always limited. With the addition of these 2 side tables, you can store your valuables, drinks and even have a torch at arms reach for late night toilet emergencies.
The Coleman Air Mattress on legs does come with a handy 4D battery powered air pump. However, it is a battery powered air pump, which can be stressful at times. Especially when your out in the middle of the woods away from any powered camping site or electrical source. So it’s important to make sure you pack enough spare batteries to cater to the length of your camping trip. A battery powered pump is ideal for camping if you ask me. This is because you’re not always going to have access to power, and for many air mattresses, you will find you need an electrical outlet to use the pump.
Something else that is nice with the inflatable Coleman airbed is the weight limit. This air bed has a weight capacity of 600 pounds so you should experience minimal issues because of the durable heavy duty steel frame. It even comes with a mattress cover protector and a nice compact carry case which is ideal for camping trips.
Best Guest Air Bed With A Stand
Ivation EZ-Bed Review
What we love about the Ivation EZ bed is that the frame is self setting. Why?, because it’s a simple and easy process to get the bed up and running. Believe me, this is a lot easier than trying to figure out which piece connects to which for hours on end. Once the bed is in position, all you have to do is plug it into the wall. Sit back and watch the magic happen. The frame and legs will automatically form the shape of the air bed and resemble the the same height as a typical bed (24″). The whole process takes just mere minutes, which is why we think it’s a great idea for guest rooms and travelers alike.
An interesting point with the inflation of this bed is that the pump does not automatically inflate or deflate the bed like the Serta EZ Bed. Instead, it inflates it to a level that you want to have the bed at. So essentially you can customize the amount of air support you need.
However, the pump does have some preset measurements that will stop the inflation at certain points. So this is good if you already know wheher you prefer a soft or firm sleeping surface. Packing away couldn’t get any easier either. Once the bed is completely deflated, it will go down to the level that you can simply slip the bed into a duffel bag.
High End Air Mattress With Bed Frame
The Expensive Insta-Bed EZ Bed Air Mattress
Insta-Bed is a great company that has been around for quite some time. This air bed is the most expensive of the 4 we have reviewed. This price does however reflect in the shear quality presented by Insta-Bed.
Much like the Serta and the Ivation framed air beds, the Insta-bed also automatically unfolds and shapes into the bed. No putting together needed. But where the Insta-Bed is different compared to the Serta EZ Bed and the Ivation is with pump settings.
The Ivation air bed has just the one pump and doesn’t boast the neverFlat technology. While the Serta EZ Bed also has the 2nd pump like this Insta Bed, it lacks one option. This is the preset levels of support similar to that of the Ivation. So essentially, the Inst-Bed is combining the 2 standout features of the Serta and the Ivation to create a better well rounded air bed on legs.
The high end features are what give the Insta Bed a more expensive price tag. But is it worth the money?. Well, yes and no. This will depend greatly on how deep your pockets are. While the amazing 2 pump system gives superior support is it enough to justify the price.
Pump aside, the areas the Insta Bed is better include:
- Heavy duty materials including puncture resistant materials to the actual mattress.
- Built in lead storage so that when you don’t want to be connected to the mains all the time, you can neatly pack away the cord into the side of the bed.
- The carry case is wheeled compared to the other air beds on a frame. This is especially helpful if you need an air bed for travel.
- 48 internal air coils. The air coils provide the support for which your body lays on. 48 is a high number, which means you get better full body support from the air mattress.
